Ram Pa Pa Pam Pam
So me and My Brother Kieran Meadows got in the studio last year and worked on alot of interesting music. We built a few Dancehall riddims and some Roots tracks, nothing too over the top. Then we built "Ram Pa Pa Pam Pam", which to this day I don't know what to classify it as. Maybe you can say the same about most of my music. Either way, "Ram", as we call it for short, is a mixture of Dancehall, Reggaeton, and probably multiple Electronic genres. We can't forget the sweet cherry of a steelpan on top. As My Brother BEATdown! says, we took it to a place of Sonic Happiness.
Making this song has taught me some cool lessons. Most important being that no matter how much you want to guide music to a certain direction or genre, sometimes you have to let the music guide you. There are somethings in life you can't force, music definitely being one of those things. In the context of everyday living, you have to be yourself. Don't try and walk in another persons shoes. Everyone has their own unique path to travel.
The main objective while creating Ram was to make this record danceable being that Kieran and myself are both DJs. We weren't trying to produce a specific genre when we began working on this record. We just wanted to remix an artist that pretty much was a big influence to us both, Buju Banton. Being that we are both Producers as well, there is no better feeling for us as DJs than to drop our own songs in a club and watch them get a great response. Hopefully this song gets similar feedback in clubs around the globe and is REFRESHing to each listeners ears.
